Comprehensive Dialogs

Units, Currency Dialog

Settings for physical quantities, currencies as well as date and time can be made in this dialog.

The dialog can be opened with the Einheiten button, which is available in every dialog via the button panel in the upper right corner.

The dialog is divided into three registers.

Units Register

This register contains all physical quantities that are used in the program and in the data sheets.

1 The standard unit systems, SI-units and US-units, can be set as defaults in the upper area.

2 The value table is divided into two parts for better overview. Each tab contains three columns:

Name: The name of the physical quantity

Value: Die The unit of the physical quantity

n: The display accuracy of the values

To change the unit for a physical quantity, you can use the respective combo box and select the new unit from the list that opens with the Listenauswahl button.

The n number of digits can be entered directly into the respective field. This number determines the display accuracy to be used in the program or on the data sheets (within the program, however, calculations are always performed with the highest possible accuracy).

Beispiel

Example:

'4' means that the value of the respective quantity is displayed with an accuracy of 4 digits, starting from the first digit. Values that have more digits will be rounded to these four digits.

3 Since dimensions of pipes and flanges can also be specified in inches, it is possible to display these values in fractions. You can switch between decimal and fractional representation by using the Display style for inch values combo box.

4 The lower part of the dialog contains a preview of how the unit will be displayed.

Currency Register

This register allows defining the general number display and the conversion factors for currencies.

1 The upper section includes the settings for the number display of the currency to be used in the program. The following parameters can be set:

International currency code: Selection of international (yes) or national (no) currency codes for the program and data sheets.

Selected international currency code: This field allows defining the main currency for the program via the international currency code. The code can be selected from the list that opens with the Listenauswahl button.

Digits: This field defines the number of decimal places with which currencies are to be displayed in the program and on the data sheets.

Decimal separator: This field defines the decimal separator. It is usually the comma for the German market.

Digit grouping symbol: This field specifies the thousand-separator. It is usually the dot for the German market.

Positive currency format: This field allows you to select the display type for positive number values from the list that opens with Listenauswahl .

Negative currency format: This field allows you to select the display type for negative number values from the list that opens with Listenauswahl .

2 The currency conversion section contains the table for entering and managing currency conversion parameters. The available columns are:

Base currency: This column contains the currencies that are used in the program. If a required currency is not yet included in the list, you can add it. To do this, select the corresponding international code from the list that opens with the Listenauswahl button.

National currency code: The national currency codes are displayed or can be specified in this column.

Reference currency: This column defines the currency that is used as the basis for the conversion into the reference currency. It usually corresponds to the standard stored in the database.

Factor: This is where the conversion factor of the reference currency (1) to the base currency (x) is specified (1:x).

Round: This column determines the type of rounding to be used in conversions or price calculations. The following options are available in the list, which opens with the Listenauswahl button (default is marked):

Dialog Units_Round

No. of digits: The value that can be specified here refers to the rounding of amounts. The number of digits to be displayed is decisive here (see: Digits). If the value for the number of digits is 0, the amount will be rounded to the value to be displayed. If it is greater than 0, the amount will be rounded to the corresponding position before the last digit displayed. If the number of digits is less than 0, it will be rounded to the corresponding position of the digits that are no longer displayed.

Date: The date shows the time when the conversion data stored in the database was created.

Info: This column can be used to insert comments on the currency.

3 The area below the table shows which values of the selected currency are stored in the database. If they match the data in the table, this information is displayed in green. If the values differ, it is displayed in red.

4 The lower section contains a preview of the corresponding currency conversion.

Date and Time Register

This register enables the settings of the time and date display.
